Your SiriusXM Radio ID, also called the ESN or SID, is the unique code that links your radio to a subscription. You need this code to activate a new radio, transfer a plan, or request a signal refresh. The good news is that the Radio ID is easy to find once you know where to look. This guide shows every common location, organized by the type of radio or vehicle you have.

  <Accordion title="Factory installed car radios">
    For most vehicles with a factory installed SiriusXM radio, the fastest way to find your Radio ID is to tune to **channel 0**. The ID usually appears as an 8 to 12 character alphanumeric code on the radio display.

    If channel 0 does not show the ID, try these alternatives:

    * Look in your vehicle's audio or settings menu for a SiriusXM info screen.
    * Check the original window sticker or vehicle documentation that lists audio features.
    * Some vehicles show the Radio ID under a "Subscription" or "SiriusXM" section in the infotainment settings.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Aftermarket radios and portable devices">
    Aftermarket stereos and portable SiriusXM tuners often display the Radio ID on **channel 0**, just like factory radios.

    If the screen does not show it there, try these options:

    * Look for a physical label on the bottom or back of the radio or tuner unit.
    * Check the original packaging, quick start guide, or purchase receipt.
    * Browse the device menu for an "About," "Device Info," or "SiriusXM" section.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="SiriusXM app and streaming accounts">
    If you already have a SiriusXM streaming account, you can sometimes find a device or radio ID in your account settings.

    Open the official SiriusXM app or visit siriusxm.com, sign in, and look under account or device management. This is most useful if you are trying to link a new radio to an existing plan.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Older or legacy XM radios">
    Older XM radios may use a slightly different menu structure. Tune to **channel 0** first. If that does not work, press the **Menu** or **XM** button and look for an option labeled "Radio ID," "ESN," or "SID."

    You can also check for a barcode sticker on the unit itself or inside the battery compartment on handheld models.
  </Accordion>

<Tip>
  Write your Radio ID down or save a photo of it on your phone. You will need it every time you activate, transfer, or refresh your radio.
</Tip>

<Warning>
  The Radio ID is not the same as your account number or phone number. Make sure you are entering the exact alphanumeric code shown on channel 0 or the device label.
</Warning>
